Manchester United need to sign quality a midfielder in this summer’s transfer window but they also want star midfielder Ander Herrera to stay at the club.
Earlier this month, Daily Star reported that Man United will move to head off possible bids from top clubs and offer Herrera a new four year deal that will make him earn £175,000-a-week (£36million in four years).
Now, according to Telegraph, Man United have held talks and moved closer to agreeing the deal with the former Athletic Bilbao star, who joined United when Louis van Gaal was in charge.

Moreover, Star have claimed that he is keen on sign the deal with the Old Trafford club.
The Spanish international was brilliant in the last campaign and won the Player of the Year award for the Red Devils.
The 27-year-old La Roja midfielder played 50 games in all competitions under the management of Jose Mourinho last season, scored 2 goals and provided no fewer than 11 assists.
