Liverpool achieved their objective of qualifying for the Champions League last season and now they need top quality stars to challenge the best of teams in the competition next season.
The Reds have already secured the signing of a versatile playmaker by luring Mohamed Salah from Italian side Roma. Now, as far as the midfield is concerned, the Merseysiders are keen on signing Naby Keita from Leipzig.
Last night, we covered a report (via Gabriele Marcotti) claiming that Liverpool have agreed terms in principle with the 22-year-old midfielder.
As per renowned British source BBC, Liverpool are prepared to break the bank and pay a club record fee to secure the signing of Keita, who has a mammoth price tag of 70 million pounds (€80million).

Liverpool already have stars like Lallana, Wijnaldum, Can and captain Henderson for the central midfield positions. Not to forget, if the Reds do sign a new left back (they really should) then James Milner will be another option.
Last season, Klopp mainly used the 4-3-3 formation but things may change next season. If the German manager opts to use Salah with the likes of Mane, Firmino and Coutinho in the attack then he will only have the choice of selecting two players in the midfield and the department will surely be overcrowded if Keita signs as well.
As per the provided BBC link, FSG are determined to back Klopp in the summer transfer window. Therefore, it will not come as any surprise if they splash a club record sum to sign Keita.
