Liverpool are Looking to Sign £54million South American Star

Liverpool conceded no fewer than 42 goals in 38 Premier League games in the last campaign even after signing defenders like Klavan and Matip last summer.
Jurgen Klopp must break the bank if needed to sign a top quality central defender this summer and someone like Virgil van Dijk will largely improve his back line.
Few months back, we covered a report (via Don Balon) claiming that Klopp and Mourinho are interested in signing Uruguyan international and Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez.
Now, as per a recent report covered by Daily Star, Liverpool and United are still interested in signing the 22-year-old center half.

As per the provided Star link, the South American defender dreams of playing in the Premier League and his contract with the Spanish giants will expire next year.
In the 2015-16 season, Jose was a regular starter for Atletico, however, he had an injury hit campaign last term and could only start 12 times in the league. Overall, he made 29 appearances in all competitions, scored 1 goal and also provided 1 assist.
His current deal with Atletico has a huge release clause of £54million (The Sun) but Star claim that he would cost around £30million.
In your opinion, should Liverpool sign Gimenez or Van Dijk?
