Forget Perisic – Man Utd Must Seal Rodriguez Signing

Manchester United spent huge sums to strengthen their team last summer but could only finish 6th in the Premier League.
Manager Jose Mourinho needs top quality signings this summer if United are to seriously challenge for the title next season.
As per recent reports going on in the media, the Red Devils are keen on hiring the services of Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic to improve their attacking department. However, the Nerazzurri have recently rejected United’s bid to sign the €55m rated star (via Gianluca Di Marzio).
The Old Trafford club have also been linked with Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez and in my opinion, they have to forget about signing Perisic and must seal the signing of the Colombain attacking midfielder instead.

The former Monaco star is currently in his peak years and will turn 26 this month. On the other hand, Ivan’s peak years are gone and he will turn 29 next year. That is perhaps one of the main reasons why United have not met Inter’s asking price as yet.
Perisic was a regular starter for the Serie A side in the last campaign and in all competitions, he scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists.
On the other hand, the €210,000-a-week attacker (Star) was just a bench warmer for the Los Blancos but still performed brilliantly. The South American star only started 20 games last season and directly contributed in 24 goals (11 goals and 13 assists)
Few days back, we covered a report (via Diario Gol) claiming that Rodriguez only wants to join Manchester United this summer but for that to happen Mourinho must splash the cash and meet Real’s asking price.
