Last night, more than a few World Cup qualification (Europe) games were played and surprisingly, France lost to Sweden 2-1 away from home.
After 6 games, the Les Bleus are now second in the table and must step up big time to qualify for the next year’s World Cup.
Arsenal star Olivier Giroud gave France the lead with a stunning volley goal in the 37th minute of the game. The home side failed to clear Payet’s ball and it fell to the former Montpellier striker, who controlled it brilliantly and then smashed a wonderful volley in the net.
However, Durmaz scored before half time and Toivonen netted in second half injury time to earn all three points for Sweden on the night.
