Liverpool cannot seem to leave Southampton alone. In the past few years, the Reds have signed more than a few stars from the Saints.
Last summer, Jurgen Klopp lured Sadio Mane from Southampton and the Senegalese attacker proved to be brilliant in his first season at Anfield.
After ending their interest in signing Virgil van Dijk from the St. Mary’s, Liverpool have opted to go back and have expressed their intention to hire the services of Dusan Tadic in the summer transfer window (Sunday Times).
The 28-year-old Serbian international is a versatile playmaker, who can play anywhere in the attacking third. Naturally, he is a left winger but Puel mainly used him in the central attacking midfield role last season.
Duasn’s current contract will expire in 2020 and as per the provided Times link, it has a release clause of 13 million pounds ($17million). The British source also state that as per a source close to Tadic, he would welcome the move to Anfield.
Tadic featured in 44 games (all competitions) in the last campaign and directly contributed in 11 goals for the Saints (3 goals and 8 assists). In 2015-16, he scored 8 goals and provided 13 assists in 34 PL games under the management of former boss Ronald Koeman.
Reports in the media suggest that the Merseysiders are also interested in securing the signing of Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (via Express).
