Manchester United were trying to sign Victor Lindelof for quite some time and they have finally got him.
The Red Devils were interested in signing the Swedish international in the winter transfer window as well but the move did not happen then. Now, the Old Trafford club have officially confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Benfica to hire his services.
The player is set to complete his medical and agree personal terms with the club after which, United will make another announcement.
According to reports (BBC), Jose Mourinho’s team has agreed a fee worth 31 million pounds ($40million) with the Portuguese champions.
Lindelof has won every major Portuguese silverware with Benfica including three league titles. Last season, he featured in 32 league games and helped the team retain their Primeira Liga crown.
Victor made his senior international debut back in March 2016 and so far, he has played 12 times and scored 1 goal. We expect him to partner Eric Bailly in the central defense for Manchester United.
