Chelsea have been looking to sign French international and Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko for quite some time and the latest reports suggest that the Blues are close to securing his signature.
Back in March, we covered a report (via Guillem Balague) claiming that the defensive midfielder has agreed personal terms to join the Stamford Bridge club in the summer.
Moreover, on 10th June, we covered a report (via L’Equipe) and stated that Chelsea are close to agreeing a fee worth $45million to sign the Les Bleus star. Now, reports suggest that Londoners have reached an agreement with Monaco to finally hire the services of Bakayoko.
Few hours back, RMCSport’s Mohamed Bouhafsi tweeted that Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle (worth 40 million euros) with Monaco to sign the 22-year-old star.
More recently, Daily Mail reported that Conte’s team have agreed a fee worth 35.2 million pounds ($45million) with the Ligue 1 champions.
Chelsea already have a strong DM in the form of Nemanja Matic but it will not come as any surprise if Bakayoko replaces the Serbian star to partner compatriot N’Golo Kante in Conte’s midfield.
Not to forget, he scored the decisive goal to knock Manchester City out of the Champions League. Overall, last season, Tiemoue featured in 51 games for Monaco, scored 3 goals and also provided one assist.
