Virgil Verbally Agrees to Sign for Liverpool

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move to sign Southampton star Virgil van Dijk for a long time now.
If the latest reports are anything to go by then the Reds are close to signing the 25-year-old Dutch international, who has verbally agreed to join the Anfield club.
According to an exclusive report covered by Read Liverpool, the £50million rated ($64.5million) central defender has agreed to sign for the Merseysiders if they can qualify for the next season’s Champions League.
At the moment, Liverpool are third in the table with three Premier League games remaining and are firm favorites to earn CL qualification. Therefore, it will not come as any surprise if Van Dijk ends up moving to Anfield in the summer transfer window.
Ten days back, current Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers stated (Talksport):

“He’s (Van Dijk) 6ft 4in, he’s fast, he can play, he’s an international footballer, he’s good in the air – he’s got everything.”

Back in January, Virgil suffered a foot injury against Leicester and since then, he has been out of action. However, when fit, he was easily one of the best defenders in the league.
This season, Van Dijk has featured in 30 games in all competitions under the management of Claude Puel and scored 4 goals.
His current contract with the Saints will expire in 2022 and as per the provided Read Liverpool link, Liverpool seem happy to pay £50million to hire his services.
