Can Arsenal Beat Chelsea in the Race to Sign €100million Star?

Arsenal badly need a top quality out and out center forward in the summer transfer window to bounce back in the next campaign.
According to an exclusive report covered by The Sun, the Gunners and Chelsea are front runners to secure the signature of Italian international and Torino striker Andrea Belotti, who has a release clause of €100million in his contract (ESPN).
Since the departure of star striker Robin van Persie, Arsene Wenger has failed to lure a world class No.9 and someone like Belotti can solve that dilemma for the French boss. The question is, can Arsenal beat Chelsea in the race to sign him?
The 23-year-old Azzurri striker proved that he is one of the best center forwards in the world by scoring 25 goals in 34 appearances for Torino in the recently concluded Serie A season.
Belotti is a star who deserves to play in the Champions League and in this case the Blues have the upper hand.
Chelsea won the Premier League and qualified for the group stages of the Champions League. Arsenal could only finish 5th and will not be taking part in Europe’s elite competition next season.
Roman Abramovich is renowned for splashing huge amounts of cash and paying players high wages to bring them to Stamford Bridge. On the other hand, Wenger is renowned for signing youngsters and has so far failed to agree big money deals with superstars like Ozil and Alexis.
Therefore, it will not be a surprise if Chelsea opt to splash 100 million euros to sign Belotti. It will definitely be shocking if Arsenal end up spending that huge a fee on him.
Arsenal should hope that Diego Costa stays, only then Chelsea will not really need to spend big for an out and out striker and Wenger may have a chance of signing Belotti.
