Ibhrahimovic has been in fantastic form this season and overall he has been United’s best player. Still, in the Europa League, no one has been more impressive than Sergio Romero.
Zlatan has netted 5 goals and provided 4 assists in 9 Europa League appearances in the current campaign. However, United main’s strength in that competition has been their defensive and for that, major credit goes to none other than the Argentine goalie.
First choice GK, David De Gea, made three EL appearances this season, United conceded in every game and lost two of them. On the other hand, with Romero in goal, the Red Devils have played 7 games in the competition and conceded just a single goal.
The former Sampdoria goalie has kept 6 clean sheets in the competition.
He made his first PL appearance of the season against the Black Cats yesterday and kept a clean sheet. Overall, he has 9 clean sheets in 12 games this season (conceded only 3 goals).
