Arsenal have been in dismal form this season and need a major summer overhaul if they are to have any chance of bouncing back next season.
According to recent reports, it seems that the Gunners are already closing on completing the first signing of the summer in the form of Bosnian international and Schalke star Sead Kolasinac, who will be out of contract in June.
Few days back, Daily Mail claimed that the North Londoners have agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old left back.
Now, according to Mirror, Arsenal are confident that the deal for Sead is done and Wenger believes that he has won the race to sign Kolasinac from Schalke on a free transfer.
There have been no official announcements as yet but it looks highly likely that the versatile star will end up moving to the Emirates.
Kolasinac has been very effective on the left hand side of the field for the German side. In 32 games (all competitions), he has netted 3 goals and also provided 9 assists. Naturally, he is a left back but Schalke have mainly used him in the left midfield position this season.
In the midweek Europa League game against Ajax, Sead provided 2 assists for Schalke but the Bundesliga side were knocked out of the competition after conceding two late goals in extra time.
Kolasinac should replace veteran Monreal in the starting XI if he eventually joins the North London club.
