Arsene Wenger needs to leave Arsenal after the team’s horrendous performance this season. The North Londoners are currently 6th in the table and based on current form, it is safe to say that they will not be in the next season’s Champions League.
The Gunners need heavy reinforcements in the summer transfer window and according to reports going on in the media, they have moved in to sign a versatile star in the form of Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac.
Last month, we covered a report (via This is Anfield via Bild) claiming that Liverpool have moved in with a contract offer for the 23-year-old Bosnian international.
Now, according to Daily Mail, Arsenal have opened talks to hire the services of Kolasinac in the summer transfer window. The report says that the Gunners talked to his reps back in January as well and now, they have made further contact to finally sign him.
Sead can play in multiple positions. He is mainly a left back but can also be deployed in the defensive midfield or on the left hand side of the midfield if needed.
This season, Schalke has mostly utilized him as a left midfielder, he has featured in 31 games, scored 3 goals and also provided 7 assists.
Veteran Monreal and bench warmer Gibbs are no longer good enough for the North Londoners, who must sign a new left back at all costs in the summer. Kolasinac will be out of contract in June and would likely demand a high wage to agree a deal with his new club.
