Liverpool and Tottennham are interested in signing Moussa Marega in the summer transfer window.
Tottenham splashed the cash last summer window to sign Vincent Janssen from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.
Spurs supporters hoped that the Netherlands striker will be able to play as a cover striker for Harry Kane and prove to be brilliant in his absence. Unfortunately, that has not happened as yet.
In the absence of the England international, Janssen has not been able to step up. The North Londoners must sign a top star this summer to finally solve the dilemma and they have to agree the signing of Moussa Marega.
Recently, reports in Germany (Bild) have suggested that the Reds and Spurs are eyeing Marega, who is currently playing for Vitoria, on loan from FC Porto.
The 25-year-old star has a contract with the Primeira Liga giants until 2020, and has a mammoth release clause (DN) of 40 million euros ($43million).
This season, the Mali international has been in fantastic form for the Portuguese side. In 17 league appearances, Moussa has scored 12 goals and provided 2 assists.
Spurs need someone who could not only cover for Harry Kane but also support him in the strike-force if needed and Marega completely fits the bill.
Moreover, Pochettino needs quality and depth in various key areas if he is to perform well in Europe next season and the French born star could cover more than just one attacking position. Marega is a versatile talent, he is mainly a secondary striker, who can effectively play as a lone center forward and can also be deployed on the flanks as well.
