Man Utd Step Up Interest to Finally Agree €60million Midfielder Signing

Manchester United sold French defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin to Everton in the winter transfer window. Moreover, veteran midfielder Michael Carrick is not someone who would start every game and perform at the optimum level.
Therefore, manager Jose Mourinho needs to sign a top quality holding midfield star, who could not only form a solid presence in front of the back four but also be creative in the center of the park.
One such player who has been heavily linked with a move to Man United for quite some time is French international and Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Back in October 2016, the 22-year-old star was valued around 25 million euros and reports in France claimed that Mourinho is a huge fan of the midfielder (SW via Le10Sport).
The Red Devils then tried to secure his signature in the January window but the player eventually stayed with the Ligue 1 side (via The Times).
Now, according to the latest reports, Manchester United have stepped up their interest to finally sign the highly rated star this summer. United scouts were present to observe him for Monaco in their 3-1 victory over the Sky Blues (ESPN). He scored the decisive goal of the game to win the contest.
This season, Bakayoko has been brilliant for the French side, who not only have qualified for the quarter finals of the Champions League but also sit on top of the domestic league, three points above the reigning champions PSG.
His improved form has attracted interest from top clubs and even raised his price tag. The likes of Liverpool (via The Sun) and Chelsea are also interested in signing Tiemoue and Monaco are now demanding a fee of €60million for him (via FootMercato).
