Liverpool Have an Edge to Agree $31million Star Signing

Liverpool must improve their back line this summer and stop leaking goals or else they can forget about winning any title next season under the management of Klopp.

Recently, we have covered reports (via Football Whisper) claiming that the Reds are interested in signing the likes of Matthias Ginter (Dortmund) and Virgil van Dijk (Southampton) in the summer transfer window.
Now, England international and Middlesbrough center half Ben Gibson is in the limelight as well.
According to Daily Mail, top Premier League clubs like Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea and Tottenham have shown interest in hiring the services of the 24-year-old star.
As per the British source, Liverpool have an edge to beat the rivals and secure his signature. Ex Boro and Real Madrid star Jonathan Woodgate is now a scout for the Merseysiders and he could be vital in helping Liverpool sign Ben. Woodgate is not only a huge admirer of Gibson but has also formed a close bond with the player.
Middlesbrough are currently 19th in the table and will find it hard to hold on to Gibson if they eventually get relegated.
Ben was impressive mainly in the first half of the season. His solid performances at the back earned Boro points away from home against Arsenal and Man City. This season, he has featured in 31 games and scored one goal.
