Chelsea look set to win the Premier League title this season. Currently, they have a 10 points lead over their closest rivals and are in brilliant form.
The Blues adequately reinforced their squad last summer under the management of Antonio Conte and the Italian boss is looking to further strengthen his team this summer by signing top players.
According to reports in Turkey (Ajansspor), Conte is set to pay a sum of €38million to sign Hakan Calhanoglu from German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
The 23-year-old star scored 7 goals and provided 7 assists in 22 games for Leverkusen before getting a 4 month suspension from FIFA. The Turkish international got the penalty for breaching an agreement with Trabzonspor.
As per the provided Ajansspor link, the player’s representative confirmed that Hakan would be leaving the club this summer
“Hakan will (bid) farewell to Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season.”
Last month, we covered a report (via Daily Mail) in which the former Hamburger star claimed that he is looking to join Chelsea.
Calhanoglu is a versatile star who can operate anywhere in the midfield and also in the attack. He has effectively played as a central midfielder, as an attacking midfielder/winger and also as a secondary striker.
Moreover, he is arguably the best free kick taker in the game at the moment and his ability from set piece is fantastic.
In your opinion, should Conte splash the cash to sign Hakan?
