Liverpool desperately need quality and depth in their strike-force if they are to have any chance of winning the Premier League title next season.
After selling the likes of Balotelli and Benteke, Sturridge and Ings have proved to be injury prone and Origi has mainly warmed the bench. In such a scenario, the Reds are looking to sign a new center forward this summer and a young Brazilian is in the limelight.
Back in January, we covered a report (via Independent) claiming that Manchester United have the first option to sign 16-year-old striker Vinicius Junior, who plays for Brazilian club Flamengo.
Now, according to an exclusive report covered by Sport Witness, the Red Devils are not the only club interested in luring the teenage center forward. Even the likes Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City have made contacts to inquire about hiring his services.
Junior’s goal scoring record for the young Brazilian national teams has been absolutely brilliant.
For the U-15s, Vinicius featured in 6 games for the Samba boys and netted 6 goals. He made his debut for the U-17s back in July last year and so far, in 19 appearances, he has netted 17 goals.
Brazil won the recently held South American Under-17 Football Championship (Chile). Vinicius Junior ended the tournament as the leading goalscorer with 7 goals and was also named the best player.
As per the provided Sport Witness link, he has a release clause of 30 million euros ($33million) in his contract and Flamengo want to sign a new deal with him to raise his price tag.
