Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho seems very interested in keeping his stars players at the club.
Recently, we have covered reports claiming that the likes of Juan Mata and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are expected to agree deals with the Old Trafford club.
Now, Spanish international Ander Herrera is in the limelight as well. According to the Sun, Mourinho is set to offer the central midfielder a fresh deal after a brilliant season. The new deal will have a one year extension added and would keep him at United until 2019.
The 27-year-old La Roja star signed for the Red Devils back in 2014 for a fee of €36million (The Guardian) and he is one of the players, who has impressed the former Chelsea boss big time.
Back in December 2016, Jose claimed (Man Utd):

“I think the most important thing for a player is the manager and the fans,”
“Ander has [the backing of] both the manager and the fans. So I don’t think he’s worried about others bringing him to the limelight; he knows that he is having a phenomenal season for us.”

As per the provided Sun link, an OT source has stated that the club could wait but sooner or later, Ander will agree new terms with the club.

“The club could wait a while before giving him fresh terms, but they do want to.”
“There is no worry that he is entering the final year. Early discussions have already began and it’s all good.”

This season, the former Athletic Bilbao star has featured in 35 games for the Old Trafford club, scored one goal and provided eight assists.
