Chelsea are flying high in the Premier League and only a disastrous run of form from now on wards will prevent them from winning the title this season.
The Blues’ Russian owner, Roman Abramovich is renowned for sanctioning big money moves for the club and according to latest reports, he reached a verbal agreement (worth €180million) with Barcelona to sign star playmaker Neymar. However, Antonio Conte could block that move because he wants to trim his squad first (AS via TuttoSport)
Neymar is the world’s most valuable player as per CIES Football Obseravtory (€225.9), and currently has a release clause of €222million (AS).
Therefore, it is baffling that Conte would actually block a move for someone who is better than all the playmakers in the Chelsea squad. Not to forget, the former Juve boss has already offloaded Oscar for a huge fee.
Anyways, we take a look at how Chelsea will line up with Neymar, if he does end up moving to Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilain sensation only starts on the left hand side of the attack. This season, he has played 35 games (all on the left wing), scored 14 goals and provided 23 assists.
Superstar Eden Hazard starts on the left hand side of the attack in a 3-4-3 system preferred by Conte. However, the Italian has also used him as a central attacking midfielder and on two occasions, the Belgian was utilized as a CF (in the absence of Costa).
This season, the former Lille playmaker has scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists in 31 appearances for the Blues.
Therefore, if Neymar joins, we can expect Hazard to shift to the other side of the attacking midfield behind the main center forward. The addition of Neymar would surely make Chelsea’s attack the best in the league.
Here is how Chelsea will line up with Neymar.
