Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij is heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A next summer and top PL clubs are interested in signing the Dutch star.
Yesterday, we covered a report (Lazio Press via GdS) claiming that the 24-year-old center half will be leaving the Italian club next summer and the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing him.
Now, as per the latest reports going on in the Italian media (Lazio Press via Corriere della Sera), the name of Arsene Wenger is also mentioned with the likes of Conte and Mourinho who are looking to sign the €40million rated center half next summer.
The former Feyenoord star rose to fame after his brilliant performances in the 2014 FIFA World Cup under the management of Louis van Gaal when the Dutch side finished third in the competition.
He left the Dutch club to join Lazio and as per the provided Lazio Press link, Stefan’s current deal will expire in 2018 and he is not agreeing a new one. This season, he has made 12 league appearances for the Serie A side and scored one goal.
As far as Arsenal’s defense is concerned, Wenger signed a top quality center half in the form of Mustafi last summer and the German international has impressed big time.
It will be intriguing to see whether Arsenal can beat giants like Chelsea and United to sign De Vrij because they can surely pay more wages than the Gunners to attract stars.
