Man Utd Ready to Finally Seal $136,000-a-week Star Signing

The winter transfer window opened today and already we can see a huge number rumors going on in the media.
As far as Manchester United are concerned, the Red Devils have been interested in signing a strong central defender and were reportedly close to securing the signature of Benfica star Victor Lindelof (via O Jogo).
Now, a familiar name is in the limelight again in the form of Real Madrid star defender Pepe.
The British giants have been looking to sign the Portuguese international for quite some time (Fichajes 2015).
According to the latest reports, Jose Mourinho is ready to move in and offer a contract to finally bring his compatriot to Old Trafford next summer (Express).
Pepe played a pivotal role in helping Madrid win the league title back in 2012 under the management of the current Man United boss.
As per the provided Express link, the 33-year-old star is mostly warming the bench for Real this season and Jose wants the Red Devils to make an early offer to hire his services.
The Euro 2016 winner currently earns (Star) £110,000-a-week ($136,000-a-week) with the Los Blancos and his contract will expire at the end of the season.
This means that Jose is looking to sign him on a free transfer. Pepe has bags of experience and quality but the veteran defender is surely past his best and United do not really need him.
In your opinion, should Mourinho sign Pepe?

I dont think Pepe will be able to make a difference. His age is one and his anatomy would not work in the way, he would want it to work. Again by injuries he may warming the bench again in Old Trafford. Experience does count, but putting it back into the field and internalizing into his colleagues in the team would be a question to be answered? It would be good to get someone like semedo or Liendelof young and can gel quickly into the team.
