Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League and must improve their squad to catch Chelsea. The Reds are interested in signing attacking players and Spanish international Jese Rodriguez has been linked.
A week ago, Las Palmas president Angel Ramirez praised the 23-year-old Paris-Germain star and stated that Liverpool are one of the clubs looking to sign him (Daily Mail via Las Provincia):
“Jese Rodriguez is a great footballer, he wants to come to Las Palmas, but he is owned by PSG and earns a salary that is of his level – and that is very high.”
“Liverpool, Milan and Roma want Jese and are ready to pay what he earns. We cannot afford that salary.”
If the latest reports are anything to go by then Liverpool are now clear to agree the signing of the former Real Madrid star because he will be shipped out by PSG boss in the winter window (The Sun). Unai has confirmed that selling Jese is a possible reality and even left him in France as his side traveled to Africa.
The La Roja attacker signed a €3million-a-year contract with PSG last summer (ESPN) and it will be fair to say that he has only warmed the bench. The stats provided below confirm that Emery has never really handed Jese a fair chance.

Despite limited game time, Jese managed to score 2 goals in the 2 games he started. After such a treatment, any player would want to leave and the Spaniard must exit PSG to progress in his career.
Rodriguez won every major trophy with Real Madrid and has the quality to improve the Liverpool attack, therefore, Klopp must sign him.

I like the look of this kid’s stats – despite the handicap of never being able to get into a run of form due to spending too much time on the bench – he’s always had oodles of talent, is very mobile, is intelligent, has pace and is liable to improve the more he plays. Yep, this youngster would be my first choice . . . and my only choice . . . at the forward end of the team as our main need is for defenders and a keeper who doesn’t make your partner reach for the defibrillator every time a high-ball is launched into our penalty area.
He’s the sort of player who could seamlessly move into a team playing with flexible, mobile midfielders rotating – as we do – as opposed to somebody like Carroll or Benteke who are out-and-out strikers incapable of playing in our sort of system.
