Things have been negative at Anfield lately and to change the mood, yesterday, Liverpool announced that star playmaker Coutinho has signed a new contract. However, the Reds suffered another home defeat last night much to the despair of the supporters.
The Merseysiders desperately need to improve the depth of their squad and must sign one or two quality players before the winter window closes next week.
We recently covered a report (via A Bola) claiming that Liverpool representatives were in Lisbon to inquire about signing Sporting CP star William Carvalho, who could be lured for a fee of 30 million euros.
According to the latest update provided by the Portuguese source, Klopp can secure the signing of Carvalho but this time, the Primeira Liga side are demanding a fee of €40million.
As per the report (SW via A Bola) the 24-year-old defensive midfielder will only leave for €40m, with €35m plus €5m in bonuses considered possible.
Back in 2015 (Mirror), the Portuguese international claimed that he dreams of playing in England. Two years on, he is still playing in the Primeira Liga.
William Carvalho is a specialist holding midfield star, one that Jurgen Klopp badly needs in his squad. Henderson has been playing the DM role this season but he has not been effective and the Reds have constantly leaked goals.
Therefore, the former Borussia Dortmund boss must splash the cash and hire the services of the star, who has made 29 senior appearances for Portugal and was part of the Euro 2016 winning squad.
