Chelsea Favorites to Agree $37million Versatile Player Signing

Chelsea want to sign a new midfielder and more than a few highly rated players are linked with the Stamford Bridge club.
Few days back, we covered a report (via Daily Mail) claiming that the Blues are lining up a move to sign French international and Monaco star Bakayoko.
In that report, Atlanta midfielder Franck Kessie is reported as one of the targets as well.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Chelsea are favorites to sign Kessie and the Italian source claims that the Blues have their hands on the 20-year-old midfielder.
Franck is a versatile talent who can play effectively in the central and defensive midfield. This season, he has scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists for the Serie A side.
As per the provided TMW link, the likes of Juve, Liverpool and Everton also want the talented Ivorian midfielder but talks are at an advanced stage with Chelsea.
However, Franck is currently on international duty and Atlanta want to hold on to him until the end of the current campaign, therefore, the player may move in June.
As reported by Daily Mail, Atlanta want around 30 million pounds ($37million) for their prized asset. With defensive midfielders like Matic and Kante around, do Chelsea really need Kessie?
