Arsenal have been linked with a move for West Ham star Dimitri Payet for quite some time and now reports suggest that they are ready to finally sign him.
Last month, even the 29-year-old French international invited interest from the Gunners after stating that it would be fun to play for them (Daily Express).
Now, Daily Star have covered an exclusive report and claimed that Arsenal have moved in and open talks to hire the services Payet who wants to leave the Hammers this month. Manchester United are interested in signing the former Lille attacker as well.
Payet was in brilliant form for West Ham last season and helped them finish 6th in the Premier League. This season, the Hammers have been average under the management of Bilic and Dimitri has not been at his best as well.
In 22 games (all competitions), the £35million (Mirror) rated ($43million) star has scored 3 goals and provided 8 assists.
As per the provided Daily Star link, the Les Bleus playmaker has snubbed all interest because he wants a move back to France and join Marseille.
It is highly unlikely that Wenger will pay a huge sum to lure his compatriot who will turn 30 in March. In your opinion, should Arsene sign Payet?

Payet is perfect for Arsenal especially at this time of the season. Dimitri Payet brings in new midfield creativity in the Arsenal squad most especially in the absence of Santi Carzola, and does he really add to attack!

C’mon. This is a no brainer. Wenger should buy Payet as a direct substitute for Cazorla. He is good on a the ball, and deadly on dead balls and with premier experience. He ticks most if not all boxes. He will be an instant hit.

No! He is a jerk. Anyone that gets paid that much money to play football, then has a hissy fit and refused to play, should be sued for breach of contract and blocked from playing for anyone else. We don’t want the moody little moron at Arsenal however good he can be.
