Arsenal splashed the cash in the summer transfer window and lured a quality defensive midfielder in the form of Granit Xhaka.
The Swiss international is a top midfielder but his discipline has been a huge concern for Arsene Wenger. This season, the 24-year-old star has already picked up three red cards in all competitions.
As far as the transfers are concerned, reports indicate that one of Arsenal’s transfer targets is available for a fee of $32million.
Back in Novemeber 2016, reports (The Sun) suggested that Wenger contacted the representatives of Roma star Leandro Paredes over a potential deal.
Now, according to reports in Italy (TMW via Sky Italia), the Italian giants are ready to off load him for a fee of 30 million euros.
The North Londoners are not the only English side interested in hiring his services. Liverpool have been linked for a long time as well. The 22-year-old Argentine star is mainly a defensive midfielder, who can also play as a creative central midfielder.
In all fairness, the Gunners do not need a new DM. Apart from Xhaka, the likes of Coquelin and Elneny can effectively play the defensive midfield role as well.
Wenger must look to sign a playmaking midfielder who can replace Santi Cazorla. Someone like Miralem Pjanic perfectly fits the bill.
