Manchester United’s frustrating run in the Premier League continues. Once again, they failed to hold onto a lead and only earned one point against Everton yesterday.
The Red Devils remain in 6th place, now 13 points behind league leaders Chelsea and 9 points behind Man City who occupy the final CL qualification spot.
Jose Mourinho must reinforce his defense in the winter transfer window and a Southampton star in the form of Virgil van Dijk has been in the limelight for quite some time.
The Dutch international has been in brilliant form this season and it will be fair to say that he is one of the best central defenders in the league at the moment.
Previously there were reports that Van Dijk is rated around £40million (via Mirror). However, Mirror have lately revealed that the 25-year-old star has a release clause of just £25million ($31.7million).
Recently, Southampton boss praised the Dutchman and told him to stay put with the club (Mirror). He claimed:
“Van Dijk is a great player now. But he has a contract with Southampton and it is important he stays to continue his work.”
Jose’s defense is constantly leaking goals and he must meet Virgil’s release clause and secure his signature in the winter window.
As per the provided Mirror link, the likes of Manchester City and Everton are also interested in luring the Saints star.
