Tottenham Expected to Agree $22million Deal in January

Tottenham are currently fifth in the Barclays Premier League, only a point behind arch rivals Arsenal.
The North Londoners need to reinforce the quality of their squad in the upcoming winter transfer window and must also hold onto their star players if they want to qualify for the Champions League again.
Spurs have recently agreed new contracts with star players like Harry Kane (worth £125,000-a-week) and Hugo Lloris (worth £100,000-a-week).
Now, according to reports (Daily Mirror), Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld will be the next star to sign a new deal with Tottenham.
The 27-year-old former Atletico Madrid center half was solid at the back for Spurs last season and formed a strong central defensive partnership with compatriot Jan Vertonghen.
This season, he has missed more than a few fixtures due to a knee concern. In 13 games, Toby has scored one goal.
As per the provided Daily Mirror link, Levy wants to seal a new five year deal with Alderweireld and the agreement is expected to be reached by the end of next month. The report does not mention any wages.
However, earlier this month, Evening Standard reported that Spurs have begun talks with the defender and believe that the new contract will make him earn £70,000-a-week i.e. £18.2million ($22million) in the next five years.
