Manchester United lured a top striker in the form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a quality playmaker in the form of Henrikh Mkhitaryan to reinforce their attack last summer under the management of Jose Mourinho.
However, the Red Devils have not been brilliant up front this season. The veteran Swedish superstar has been the best attacking player for them so far. Mkhitaryan on the other hand has failed to impress Mourinho.
Adding to that, captain Wayne Rooney is not getting any younger and Mourinho needs to solve dilemma by signing a superstar to strengthen Man United’s offense. United have only scored 18 goals in 13 league games this season.
Once again, Barcelona and Brazilian star Neymar is linked with a move to Old Trafford and Daily Record have reported that Man United are keen on securing his signature in a deal that could be worth 180 million pounds.
Jose is well aware of the fact that Rooney is past his best and Ibrahimovic will not be at Old Trafford for long. Hence, he is looking to sign someone like Neymar who will largely amplify the quality of his attacking department.
The former Chelsea boss tried to sign him for Real Madrid but the Samba star ended up moving to the Catalan giants.
This season, Neymar has been inconsistent for the Spanish champions, still, his stats are impressive. In 16 appearances, the ex Santos star has scored 6 goals and provided 13 assists.
