Hernandez was in top form for the Bundesliga side last season. He netted 26 goals and provided 5 assists in 43 appearances. This season, he has scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists in 20 games.

Good grief, NO! He failed at United and, whilst he can score goals in lesser leagues around Europe I doubt very much if he will be successful in the frantic pace of OUR league when he’s already failed in it once.
Also, the fee is mind-numbing. No matter how you look at it £33m is a lot of dosh and this year he’s scored one goal, more-or-less, every three games. Bring him to England, with the pace of the game, and that is going to be one-in-five . . . not good enough.
Who should we go for? God knows, there aren’t any obvious candidates other than Celtic’s Dembele . . . unless Harry Kane admits to being a Liverpool fan and tells us he’s got a £10m buy-out clause hidden away in his contract. Dembele MIGHT happen, Kane won’t, but if we concentrate our resources on solving the problems at the back our attacking prowess might just be enough. We are, after all, scoring more than anybody else but we just can’t stop conceding.
