Liverpool registered their third consecutive win in the Barclays Premier League by beating Stoke City at Anfield yesterday. Next up, the Reds will face title rivals Manchester City.
The Merseysiders need to strengthen their attack in the winter transfer window and Dutch international Quincy Promes has been in the limelight.
Mirror recently reported that Klopp is keen on hiring the services of the former FC Twente star who has a release clause of 20 million pounds ($25million) in his contract.
Liverpool’s versatile playmaker Sadio Mane will be heading to the AFCON next month and Promes is exactly the kind of player who can effectively replace the Senegalese star in Klopp’s starting XI.
Like Mane, Promes naturally starts on the right hand side of the attack and can play anywhere in the attacking third, even as a center forward.
Quincy is not as fast as the former Southampton attacker but he has the pace and trickery to trouble the defenses in the Premier League. This season, he has directly contributed in 13 goals (6 goals and 7 assists) in 14 league games for Spartak Moscow.
At the moment, Coutinho is out injured but he is expected to return next month. Here is how Liverpool will line up with Promes if he does end up moving to Anfield.

I sincerely hope Coutinho stays but, let’s be honest, the team has been playing really well in the attacking third during his injury period so, whilst he is our best player, we’ve compensated for his loss really well with other players contributing massively. I thought Origi was superb against Stoke, spraying the ball around to change the direction of attacks, and the movement of the attacking players was excellent.
It wouldn’t be the end of the world if Coutinho was tempted by Barca and think what £60m could do to our dodgy defence?
Good grief, just think how we’d do if we could keep attacking as we are doing whilst also being able to defend!!!!!
