It has been a month since Tottenham last won a game in any competition. The North Londoners defeated high flying City on 2nd October and since then, they have drawn four and lost one fixture.
Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to get back to winning ways when Spurs face Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League at White Hart Lane tomorrow night.
Tottenham are currently second in their group with four points and Leverkusen are a point behind them after three games. The teams drew 0-0 in Germany. Who will come out on top this time around?
As far as Spurs’ team news is concerned, the likes of Erik Lamela and star striker Harry Kane are set to be fit for the game against the Bundesliga side (PhysioRoom).
The Argentine winger missed the last game vs Leicester City due to illness. On the other hand, Kane is going to return after recovering from his long term ankle injury.
Janssen has failed to shine in the absence of the England international, hence, his return is a massive boost for Spurs. However, it is highly unlikely that Kane will get straight into the starting XI.
Moreover, Pochettino will surely have next weekend’s North London derby on his mind while making the team selection vs Bayer Leverkusen.
A defeat will seriously hamper Tottenham’s chances of qualifying for the knock out phase of the competition.
