Liverpool are flying high in the Premier League mainly with the support of their brilliant attacking department.
As far as the defense is concerned, the Reds have been shaky at the back and have only kept three clean sheets in thirteen league games.
Not to forget, the Merseysiders reinforced their back line by signing Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan from the Bundesliga last summer. Moreover, they also signed a new goalie in the form of Loris Karius from FSV Mainz.
If rumors in the media are anything to go by then Klopp is still looking to strengthen his defense in the winter window and Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk is in the limelight.
According to former Coventry player and lifelong Liverpool fan Micky Quinn, Liverpool will win the race against Everton to sign Van Dijk (Express via Talksport). Quinn covers sports for Talksport and providde some inside news to the outlet by claiming:
“No, don’t worry about Koeman,”
“Liverpool will blow them (Everton) out of the water (to sign Virgil van Dijk). That’s what I’ve been told, anyway.”
The £40million (€47million) Dutch international is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League and will largely improve Liverpool’s back line (Mirror).
Southampton manager rates him very highly and last month he heavily praised the 25-year-old CB by stating (Mirror):
“Virgil Van Dijk has everything, he is a monster physically, he wins everything in the air, he is intelligent, technical. He can become one of the five best defenders in the world.”
Recently, Puel has claimed (Tribal) that it is better for Van Dijk if he stays with the Saints.
“Van Dijk is a great player and has a contract, it is important all of the good players stay with us and continue their work and improve with Southampton.”

Without a Doubt a great Defender but 40M wow if that’s true but I personally would like to see Klopp to continue to bring players in from Germany especially Defenders where I thought Klopp was after 2 Defenders from there such as Niklas Sule and Jonathan Tah even Stefan Bell was spoken about at CD and then there is the LB predicament where again does Klopp look to bring back Moreno or hope for backup from Gomez when he returns as without doubt Milner is playing out of his skin there but I know again Ricardo Rodriguez was looked at as another addition at LB and finally the one LB heavily linked was of cause Hector but who knows ???
So what I would like to ask all you fellow Liverpool Fans is which if any CB’S would you like Klopp to bring in especially with Sakho looking to be all most Definitely going in Jan for around the £20M asking price and would you bring in LB !!!! Look forward to your thoughts
