Manchester United are struggling at the moment in the Barclays Premier League and Europa League even after spending huge sums in the summer transfer window lure stars.
The Red Devils are already looking to further strengthen their team and recently a few top quality central defenders have been in the limelight.
If reports in the media are anything to go by then Jose Mourinho is interested in signing two players from Atletico Madrid in the form of Uruguayan duo Jose Gimenez and Diego Godin.
Now, there is a new name in the limelight in the form of Dutch international and Southampton star Virgil van Dijk.
According to Mirror, Mourinho wants Man United to seal the signing of the 25-year-old center back who is rated around 30 million pounds ($37.6million). The former Celtic star is now a priority target.
Van Dijk is a key member of the Saints’ side and Mou wants his strength in Manchester United’s back line. This season, Virgil has featured in 14 games in all competitions and scored one goal.
