After spending heavily in the summer, not many Manchester United supporters would have expected their team to sit in eighth position after 10 league games.
The Red Devils have only won four games and have 15 points, 8 points behind the joint league leaders. If the current form does not improve then title talk will be pointless and United can even forget about finishing in the top four.
Last month, Mourinho’s men failed to win a single league game and the former Chelsea manager will be hoping to bounce back this month.
Legendary Manchester United defender Gary Neville has recently claimed that Jose Mourinho is facing two major concerns at the moment and he has to sort them out if United are to do well this season under his management.
Neville said (Gary Neville podcast):
“At the moment you’re not quite sure that Jose Mourinho knows his best team, (Or) that he trusts his players fully yet.”
It is evident from recent rotation that Mourinho is not sure about his best XI. Moreover, sidelining Schweni who has bags of experience has not helped him one bit.
Some selection decisions have been baffling as well. Carrick performed well against City but was nowhere to be found against Burnley. On the other hand, the sad treatment of summer signing Mkhitaryan makes no sense as well.
