Manchester United are looking to strengthen their squad under the management of Jose Mourinho by signing new players.
According to latest reports, the Red Devils are interested in signing West Ham playmaker Dimitri Payet who is rated around 35 million pounds (via Mirror).
Moreover, the former Blues manager is also interested in holding onto his best players and Ecuadorian international Antonio Valencia is one of them. If reports are anything to go by then United are closing in to extend his contract.
Mourinho recently claimed:
“Big clubs like Manchester United want to keep their best player and the best players at the biggest clubs want to stay for the rest of their career.”
As per the provided Mirror link, the Portuguese boss has confirmed that United will take up the extension option and agree a one year deal with the South American star. Valencia earns £80,000-a-week ($100,000-a-week).
The former Wigan star was signed by United under the management of Alex Ferguson and mainly played as an attacker. However, he has been playing effectively in the right fullback position for quite some time and has impressed Mourinho.
This season, the 31-year-old star has featured in 13 games for the Old Trafford club and provided 2 assists. Should United extend Valencia’s contract or sign a new right back in the winter transfer window?
Antonio Valencia is a talented player and will need his service at Old Traford for Contract Extension which I will be pleased to see him end his career at Old Traford.
UNITED WE STAND.
Dmitri payet is old now, man united cant be spending money for the sake of it..we already have mkhitaryan, rashford, martial nd pogba.. These are the people mourinho should be building the team around.
