Manchester United spent record fee to hire the services of a world class midfielder in the form of Paul Pogba from Juventus in the summer transfer window.
The French international is constantly improving for the Red Devils and United have more than a few options in the midfield. Still, Mourinho is looking to further reinforce his central midfield and two names are in the limelight.
The Sun report that the former Chelsea boss wants to re-unite with Nigerian international Mikel who has not played a single game for the Blues this season.
Moreover, as per the provided Sun link, the Portuguese manager is also looking to sign £30million ($37.4million) rated Leicester City star Danny Drinkwater. The 26-year-old star is a versatile talent who can effectively play as a central/defensive midfielder and will be hard to lure this winter due to Leicester’s involvement in the Champions League.
The England international was in brilliant form for the Foxes last season. In 35 league appearances, Danny scored 3 goals and provided 8 assists while partnering Kante in their title winning campaign.
This season, the entire Leicester team have been average in the Premier League. In 19 appearances (all competitions), Drinkwater has only provided one assist. Therefore, United really do not need to splash the above mentioned sum to sign him.
