Even after spending huge sums in the summer transfer window to reinforce the squad, Manchester United have been average so far this season under Jose Mourinho.
The former Real Madrid boss is already looking to further reinforce his team by signing new players in the upcoming winter transfer window.
If reports are anything to by then Mourinho is eager to strengthen his back line and Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier is in the limelight.
According to Mirror, United scouts watched the Ivorian international vs the Les Bleus ahead of a potential bid in January. The former Toulouse star is quality right back who is solid at the back and effective in the attacking third as well.
Praising Serge, Ivory Coast coach Sabri Lamouchi recently claimed that Aurier is an explosive player and his best days are yet to come. Sabri stated (Mirror via L’Equipe):
“If you were to put him tomorrow in Arsenal’s, Chelsea’s or Manchester United’s team, he would start.”
“An explosive, powerful and quick full-back is exceptional, there aren’t many on the market. He’s not at his best yet, either.”
In the last campaign, the 23-year-old star featured in 33 games, scored 4 goals and provided 3 assists in PSG’s title winning season. This season, he has provided 3 assists in 10 appearances so far.
