Liverpool are currently joint leaders of the Premier League, only behind Arsenal and Manchester City on goal difference.
The Reds already have a quality squad and they are also looking to sign talented starlets who will prove fruitful for the club in the years to come.
According to the latest reports (The Sun), Liverpool are looking to sign Marseille’s highly rated player who is regarded as one of the brightest prospects around. The player in discussion is 18-year-old French international Maxime Lopez.
Dubbed the “new Samir Nasri” the teenage starlet is mainly a central attacking midfielder but like Nasri, he can play anywhere in the attacking third.
The youngster made his first start for the Ligue 1 side on Sunday and as per the provided Sun link, scouts from Liverpool and Arsenal were present to monitor his performance. In four league appearances, he has provided one assist so far.
Team-mate Florian Thauvin praised Maxime’s performance and claimed:
“He’s a very good player and has a very bright future. He was able to show everyone the extent of his talents.”
Liverpool did approach him in the past but the player rejected to stay with Marseille (Goal). Should Klopp splash the cash to sign Lopez?
