Liverpool failed to beat Southampton after creating so many chances yesterday.
The Reds are still at the top of the league for the time being but that can change if high flying Chelsea beat Middlesbrough today.
The Merseysiders had 65% possession and were constantly attacking the wall of Southampton. Klopp’s men did break the organized defensive line of the Saints but were poor in front of goal.
Liverpool took 15 shots at the St Mary’s but only two of them were on target much to the despair of the travelling supporters.
Sadio Mane had two great chances to open the scoring in the first half but failed to convert.
On the other hand, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho had golden opportunities to score in the second half but the tired Brazilian duo wasted them.
Some supporters are absolutely angry with the result and are blaming Jurgen Klopp for not playing the likes of Origi and Sturridge early on to break the deadlock.
A few tweets are provided below.

How pathetic can some people be? Still top of the league, just, after 12 games and with only five home games played and 7 mainly difficult away games so why start worrying and blaming the manager when we outplay a good team like Soton but simply can’t score?
Nobody wins every game – with Barca only drawing 0-0 at home to Malaga yesterday – but the away fixture at Soton is always going to be tough and few teams are going to that ground and come away with much.
Would have been nice to win but, hey, we didn’t and that is another tough away game chalked-off. We’ve now had most of our hard away games and still got lots of home games so let’s put this down to bad luck and enjoy playing lowly Sunderland next week, at home, whilst Chelsea (I think) play Spurs. We get three points, hopefully, and one of them, or both of them, will drop points!
@RED PHIL.It’s obvious you know nothing about football with your ignorant statement. It’s not about winning 7 mainly difficult games but about consistency if you want to always complete with the very best. Klopp over the course of his stay at Liverpool has shown that he lacks sound ability to read games and this has been the reason why we have lost or drawn matches we should have won. We lost 2 points to man u cos he failed to make the right changes and in good time. Emre Can was pathetic against Man U and Soton yet he kept him on till late. When Firmino who’s not a striker has difficulty with converting chances he keeps in on till late while leaving Sturridge and Origi on the bench. Liverpool will keep losing cheap point if this continues as we can’t always have it easy scoring 6 goals every match day with attacking midfielders, he needs change of approach sometimes. I think Klopp is just a motivator like Maurinho who brings out the best in individual players but not necessarily a sound game reader and changer.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but, personally, I still think that, having dominated almost every game so far and with us having played most of our rivals for the CL places AWAY already, we are in a good position. Although a Reds fan, for my sins I live in Manchester and keep coming up against the mindless optimism of United and City fans who think they will win EVERY game.
Come on, let’s get real here and accept that we are still a work in progress and we can’t hope to win every game. Let’s not get as sick as the United fans, for heaven’s sake, demanding we win every game and whingeing if we don’t.
The manager has made numerous correct decisions – and I wouldn’t swap him for anybody else – so let’s see what happens in the next few games without questioning every decision he makes, or doesn’t make.
In reality, getting a draw at Soton isn’t a bad result but, obviously, a win would have been better. I’m still not convinced that Klopp rates Sturridge and I’m not sure myself how he fits into the pattern we now play.
Yeah, with hindsight we could have put subs on earlier but that is unfair on any manager who doesn’t have hindsight . . . and very few do! If we’d scored in the last minute people would be praising Kloppy as a genius but that is one of the best things about footie, you never know what is going to happen whatever you do. With the amount of pressure we had the players most likely to have been subbed could have scored had they been kept on. Who knows? Not an exact science!
As previously stated, seven mainly very difficult away games played, only five home games and only a point below top spot. I’m happy with that at the moment!
@Adekunle adeyemo it is obvious too that you know nothing about football with such your ignorant and selfish statement. who is origi or sturridge when comes to football. what have they done or what achievement have both brought to the team?what you need to say is just to support and encourage the coach to put in his best as a coach and win games for us.
Kloop should be blamed for this match for mismanagement of the players. He brought in sturidge and origi late and try couldn’t perform any wonder before the match come to an end..He disgust me by saying he was satisfied with draw..
Infact Klopp substitution at times are mind boggling it comes very late when it happens like that it doesn’t give the players coming on that confidence I think he needs read the game properly.
you guys can be funny… but everyone has the right to his/her own opinion. sturridge that you are moaning about also played for England.. if he had started, i bet we would have counted the number of chances created with one hand. When sturridge is tired, he cant produce anything worthwhile….. while there are different reasons for substituting, you dont just do it anyhow because a player has not performed to his regular best. If you know football well or even play it, you’ll know that sometimes it takes time to get into the game. so is it when the player is getting into the game that yo remove him? Blaming Klopp for the draw is hypocritical….. first question is how many games have liverpool lost this season? 1. where we couldnt get a win, we got draws….. we should be expectant for better results but should not be hypocrites about it as no team in all top leagues can boast of winning all games in the season. so pls guys lets be patient and expectant……. im sure many of you were among those who abused and criticized lalanna but are not praising him….. lets be angry but not be hypocrites about it.
What is sluggish Can doing in the Liverpool set up? He should have been substituted long time!
