Manchester United failed to beat West Ham United last weekend at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
Tonight, the Red Devils will collide against the Hammers in the EFL Cup quarter final. Who will come out on top?
Jose Mourinho has named a very strong starting XI for the game. Spanish international David De Gea starts in goal for United.
Valencia once again starts in the right back position. The likes of Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones start in the central defense and Luke Shaw starts in the left fullback position.
As far as the midfield is concerned, Belgian international Marouane Fellaini and French star Paul Pogba are suspended. In their absence, Ander Herrera and vice captain Michael Carrick start in the center of the park.
In the attack, the likes of Mkhitaryan, Martial and captain Rooney return to the starting XI to line up behind Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Here is Man United’s confirmed starting XI formation vs the Hammers.

This is an incredibly strong side for United. It could be argued this is Manchester United’s best XI, absent Pogba. United supporters should be concerned over this team as it signals that Mourinho is heavily focused on the least important of the five annual trophy competitions.
United did not play Champions League football and have already been ousted (probably by design) from the Europa League. In the Premier League the Red Devils are already eleven points back of Chelsea at the top of the table and eight points behind Arsenal in fourth. The questions is, does this strong team signal a belief, in the mind of the manager, that United are out of contention for the title?
