So far, Mauricio Pochettino has only secured two key signings for Tottenham this summer by luring Kenyan international Victor Wanyama from Southampton and Dutch striker Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar.
The Argentine boss must further reinforce the quality of his squad if Spurs are to have any chance of winning the league next season. More importantly, the North Londoners must hold onto their top players and captain Hugo Lloris is surely one of them.
For quite some time, there have been reports indicating that Spurs want to agree a new contract with the 29-year-old Les Bleus star.
Now, Football Insider have claimed that Spurs have moved in and opened talks to seal a five year deal with Lloris that will make him earn no fewer than 26 million pounds (34million).
Goes without saying, Hugo deserves a lucrative new contract after a brilliant campaign. He is arguably one of the best goal keepers in the world and Spurs must agree a new contract with him as soon as possible.
The former Ligue 1 star featured in 37 league games for Tottenham last season and kept 13 clean sheets.

Just pay the man what he is worth. I would hate to see him leave and play for one of our competitors.
They will get it done but I wanna see us take a look at Oliver Burke from Nottingham Forrest I have been keeping tabs on this kid and he reminds me so much of Gareth bale only on the right side. He is 19 and raw but I don’t see why we couldn’t keep him on loan at Nottingham til the end of the year and let him compete for a spot next summer if it don’t happen this window look out I’m January because if he performs like he did this morning against burton Albion he is gonna be on a lot of premier league teams wish list
Nothing to do with Lloris Matt, but hayhoo
Give Loris whatever he wants. He is a terrific goalkeeper.
