Arsene Wenger must secure the signing of a top central defender before the start of the new Premier League campaign on Sunday and reports suggest that Arsenal are close to signing one.
The North Londoners have agreed personal terms of a contract with German international Shkodran Mustafi and it will not come as a surprise if the Valencia star completes a move to the Emirates this summer.
Last season, the former Sampdoria defender featured in 30 league games for the Spanish side, scored two goals and also provided one assist. He has featured in 12 games for the senior national side and scored a goal.
Overall, the Kaiser has played over 200 games for the club and country and has got the experience to adequately strengthen Arsenal’s defense.
The 24-year-old center back who has got a mammoth release clause of €50million (Mirror) in his contract will replace the likes of injured Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista in the starting XI.
