Liverpool have lured three players from the German Bundesliga to reinforce their back line this summer.
Klopp has hired the services of two center halves in the form of Joel Matip (Schalke) and Ragnar Klavan (Augsburg) and a goalie in the form of Loris Karius (Mainz).
Now, the Reds have further strengthened their defense by hiring the services of Juan Manuel Garcia from Barcelona.
Earlier, Liverpool Echo claimed that after a successful trial, the 19-year-old defender has been offered a deal. Today, the player took to twitter and shared a picture to confirm that he has signed a contract with the Anfield club.
Praising Garcia, U-23s manager Michael Beale claimed:
“He’s very versatile and can play in different positions because technically he’s very good”
“I quite like him, he reminds he a little bit of someone like a Pablo Zabaleta-type player, a nice player.”
The Spanish international can effectively play as a center back and also as a left back.
Last season, the teenage starlet featured in seven UEFA Youth League games for the Catalan club and provided one assist. He has made six appearances for the U-17 national side (Transfermarkt).
