Wenger Ready to Finally Seal $55million Signing for Arsenal

Arsenal FCWith the likes of Mourinho, Conte and Guardiola around next season, Wenger must largely improve the quality of his squad this summer if Arsenal are to have any chance of winning the Premier League title.
As far as the transfer rumors are concerned, the Gunners are linked with numerous top players and once again a certain German international is in the limelight.
Wenger is a huge admirer of Wolfsburg star Julian Draxler and wanted to sign him back in 2013 (Express). According to latest reports, the North Londoners are finally looking to seal his signing with a huge bid.
According to reports (Talksport via ESPN), Arsenal are preparing a mammoth move of 50 million Euros ($55 million) to hire the services of the former Schalke attacker.
Last season, in 35 games for the German side, Draxler directly contributed in no fewer than 17 goals.
Arsenal already have a top quality attacking midfield with world class players like Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil around. Therefore, the French boss does not really need Draxler and must look to sign a proven quality striker to improve the attacking department.

Wenger is acting too slow. I think it’s because of Arsenal board which doesn’t want to part ways with money. Wenger is a victim of circumstances.

    • Dennis Egoigwe says:

Ringo you are the real man in sports(football)I wonder why some arsenal fans are saying to sack Wenger with out checking the root of arsenal problem. Arsenal board is not giving Wenger large amount of money needed on transfer window and how do u expect him to buy quality player we need in arsenal,is not possible. who can u tell that will live good food on the table and start eat pig meat . most of arsenal fans shouting for Wenger to go does that mean that wenger l heat to carry trophy, those fans should be careful because we are not going to get better one like him. instead of we shouting Wenger to go ,let us use the energy and fight for changes in arsenal board, because they are our problem not Wenger. just as you said Wenger is victim of circumstances.

      • Stejon McNeil says:

My problem with Wenger goes beyond the spending of money. We have a grossly unbalanced squad. We mostly have attacking central midfielders, we don’t need more. We need 2 quality goal scorers, Ground isn’t world-class and would not be a regular in any top side in any of the top leagues. We need another “true” holding midfielder, a true ball winner. We need to get a quality and speedy central defender to partner Koscielny with a backup that’s just as good. He need to start trusting the quality youngsters, like Joel Campbell, Gnabry etc and give them more games in their position when the first choice is out. And my biggest problem with Wenger for the pass 8 years is his team selection and substitutions.

      • Delford Magaya says:

Dennis Egoigwe, I agree with you 100% percent, the problem at Arsenal is not Wenger but the majority of Arsenal supporters are not aware about, if we can all fight for the board to change their attitude, then Arsenal will be like any other big clubs, but we only want to fight for Wenger, which is wrong.

        • Kevin Weaver says:

Delford, if you think you can change Stan Kroenke’s mind you’re barking mad! Apparently the Board are desperate for Wenger to stay, why doesn’t he use that position of strength to unlock the finance for needed players? The problem is Wenger, he’s far too cautious, he won’t spend the money. At least when David Dein was around there was someone to challenge Wenger.

  2. Same old problem, come up n compete with the big boyd

  3. David Hamilton says:

Arsenal need to get their finger out and buy some players before they
are all snaped up. They promised they would strengthen the squad
with at least 3 new players but same old storey they will not spend the money.

  4. brianadams says:

How can he justify spending 50mil euros on draxler when he won’t Even spend 42mil pound on lacazette the euros don’t work out that much more than 42mil pound

  5. sreven unwin says:

WENGER IS AT HIS OLD TRICKS WE NEED A STRIKER HE IS PISSING ABOUT AS PER , WE COULD HAVE BOUGHT VINCENT JANSSON BUT NO HE WANTED TO SEEN TRYING TO SIGN SOME ONE BETTER , BUT WHAT A COCK UP.JANSSON IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR SPURS BUT NOT US, WE WILL SEE NEXT YEAR.

  6. anthonyAkers says:

I am sorry but Wenger has done it again he let Jansson go to the spuds he is a top class striker yet he is talking about signing Draxler and we has an all the midfielders we need in fact to many they are not all going to be able to play we have more money than sense so why not go and get Higuain now what ever price they want and I think about 50,000 is the price so just go and sign him we have the money but it is Wenger he thinks he is paying it himself he has to go please please mr Chairman do your job properly and sack the bastard now before he completely fucks our wonderful Club right up

  7. VICTOR says:

The Draxler Story must be a Rumour. Our midfield is already over-crowded or will Draxler be coverted to a top strker? Wenger, please look for a world-class Striker and stop worshiping Giroud.

  8. Wenger and Arsenal board cannot assume too much air to themselves and abandoned fans again in this summer. If they still need the support of fans, then this is right time for them to be active in the transfer market and just do the needful. The fans surely can be a major spoiler to Arsenal campaign this season and we are committed to doing just that to prove the board wrong.

  9. Hamilton Mafuta says:

Let’s hope it will not be same old story of mentioning high profile players and find ourselves bargaining for championship players

  10. Samba says:

Its really difficult to be Wenger, fans now know better than the coaches. The main problem here is that it is difficult to satisfy everyone. People will always complain, they want 100% performance yet they cant deliver even 50% when given the chance. I know Wenger has his short comings just like everyone else. Even a new coach will come with his weaknesses, we shall have to understand, not to show him the exit door. Unless we want to be one of the teams that keep on changing coaches every year or two. Arsenal is not a place for trophy chasers like Mourinho, because they do not build a team for the future, they only want trophies and leave teams to die. WENGER MUST STAY

  11. Bonaroca says:

Bonaroca:- What I am afraid that many names are being mentioned like previous years. Obviously this I
I am very to say and hope that this is Mr Wenger ‘s last year with Arsenal. He has done a very good job through out. but now faces four four top relatively young European Managers handling Chelsea,Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Mr Wenger needs at least definitely three (3) other players, a Central Defender, and Goal Scoring C?Forward
and a top quality Goal Keeper, in case the Czech is injured.. Two (20) positions have been our weeknesses
the goalkeeper is in a case of an emergency because Czech is not getting any younger.
I think that the Arsenal Supporters are aware and probable agree with my comments !!!!

    • Atinga says:

Brian you are correct. The problem is not about money not released by the board but is about how Wenger can be consistent in decision on who exactly to have and solve the squad weaknesses. If a clause worth 55000000 for this said how much is Lacazete? Wenger is just man full of theory of no change. He can continue to search in market and comes with nothing at the end. I don’t know how much he gets underground from his so called forward man or player just to keep him there very dull instead of having a true bullet in the front!!

  12. Tony Onu says:

The problem with arsenal are the fans, I wonder when will the arsenal fans wake up because Wenger is not going to buy no striker. If the fans stop buying season tickets, then Wenger and the foolish owner of arsenal will wake up, the fan has been very supportive that’s why
