Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had to reinforce the defense this summer after the back line performed poorly last season.
The Reds were way too inconsistent at the back in the last campaogn and the German boss has done well by securing more than a few quality defensive signings this summer.
The likes of Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan have joined to strengthen the central defense. Moreover, Liverpool also signed a new goalkeeper because they needed someone to replace the mediocre Simon Mignolet.
Klopp lured German international Loris Karius from Bundesliga side FSV Mainz and the 23-year-old has conceded only one goal in five pre-season games this summer.
However, the Kaiser suffered an injury in the last friendly game against Chelsea in the International Champions Cup and the Merseysiders have officially confirmed that he will be out for six to ten weeks.
His absence is a major blow for Liverpool and the fans will have to see Mignolet once again in the starting XI. Hopefully, the former Sunderland star will not make blunders to ruin Liverpool’s start of the new season.
