Manchester United will face Wigan Athletic away from home to kick start their pre-season campaign under the management of new boss Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager will be without few key players for the opening fixture but new signings like Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are available. It will not come as any surprise if the duo get the nod to start for the Red Devils vs Wigan on Saturday.
Luke Shaw suffered a season ending injury in the last campaign, however, he is fit now and should be in the starting XI. Carrick and Herrera should start in the center of the park for the Red Devils. Spanish international Juan Mata will probably start on the bench.
David De Gea and Sergio Romero were on international duty this summer, hence, 23-year-old English goalie Sam Johnstone will likely start in goal for the Old Trafford club.
Here is Mourinho’s potential 4-2-3-1 XI for Man United vs Wigan.
