Manchester United secured the signing of a world class striker this summer by luring Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The former AC Milan forward scored his first goal for the Red Devils in a friendly game against Turkish side Galatasaray yesterday.
United were also linked with signing another center forward in the form of versatile Swiss star Breel Embolo and reports suggest that Mourinho moved in with a lucrative offer to hire his services from FC Basel.
According to reports (The Sun), Mourinho desperately wanted to sign the 19-year-old forward for United and even offered him a deal worth £74,000-a-week ($98,000-a-week). However, Embolo opted to join German Bundesliga side Schalke in a deal worth 20 million pounds instead.
Last season, Breel scored 10 goals and provided 7 assists in 27 league games for the Swiss side. He was a key member of the national team at the European Championships as well.
Capable of playing anywhere in the attacking third, the young forward is a top signing for Schalke. In your opinion, should Mourinho sign another striker for Manchester United this summer?
