Mauricio Pochettino is looking to reinforce his attacking department by signing a top attacking midfielder this summer and currently a Dutch international is in the limelight.
According to reports (Daily Mail), 25-year-old Newcastle United star Geoginio Wijnaldum tops Pochettino’s wish list and the Magpies want an amount of 25 million pounds (€29.8 million) from the sale of their prized asset. Spurs want Newcastle to lower the asking price.
The former PSV Eindhoven player is a versatile star who can play anywhere in the attacking midfield and can also be deployed effectively in the central midfield as well.
Last season, Wijnaldum played 18 games as a left sided midfielder and 16 games as a central attacking midfielder (Transfermarkt). Overall, in 38 league appearances, he directly contributed in 16 goals (11 goals and 5 assists ) for Newcastle United.
If the Netherlands star does end up moving to White Hart Lane, he will probably be deployed behind the striker, a position that is mainly covered by Alli. Hence, it is highly unlikely that Wijnaldum will get straight into the starting lineup.
Here is how Tottenham will line up with Wijnaldum. Feel free to change the formation and/or player positions.

This is a really intelligent post?!?! The strapline says ‘this is how Spurs will line up if they sign “priority” (?) star,’ and then don’t include his name on the pitch display and suggest that he might not play at all.
